I've always had a vivid imagination.
Growing up, I loved creating
stories in my head. However, only a few of them filled a
blank page. I wrote my first novel when I was eighteen
and a second when I was twenty. Both young-adult
novels lay buried in my closet and you really don't want to read
them! Unfortunately college, career, marriage and just plain old life took over
and I found I had no more time to write.
But I never stopped reading. As a
voracious child reader, I read every novel I could get my hands on
that looked remotely interesting. By the time I was
twelve, I was reading adult historical novels. No more
kiddy and teen books for me! Adult works filled the void on
the bookshelves lacking good young adult books.
Throughout the years, my reading tastes ranged from historical
romance, romantic suspense, mainstream, legal thrillers, to
epic fantasy, and paranormal / fantasy romance. What
keeps calling
to me are the paranormal & fantasy novels with a
romance element.
A few years ago,
I woke up that writing bug that has always been at
the back of my mind and slapped around my muse to write the kind of books I
like to read (at any given time). My tastes are ever-changing, but there's always an element of
the paranormal or fantasy in my stories.
I'm thrilled to see the empty young adult shelves filling up
with delicious offerings. I hope one day to join the crowd, even though
my teen reading days are long gone. But you're never to old to gobble up
a good book no matter what age bracket it's geared to!
